I love massage because it is a gentle yet powerful tool that can bring healing and transformation … and it also feels lovely! The more I massage, the more I find that I am in awe of the power of therapeutic touch to restore and liberate and I love the way that every massage is different. I believe that humans are ‘wired’ for touch as a way to connect, both with others and ourselves, and massage is a wonderful way to do this.
I offer a gentle, nurturing approach to massage, aiming to create a safe space for your body and mind to relax, unwind and settle. I work intuitively, ‘listening’ with my heart and hands to enable a sense of flow and select the most appropriate massage techniques, all underpinned by my understanding of anatomy and physiology. I have a particular interest in the way massage can calm the nervous system and enable the body to switch from a stress-based ‘flight or fight’ state to a relaxed ‘rest and repair’ state. I believe that massage offers a gentle invitation to the body to let go of whatever it is holding onto, enabling a deeply restorative experience.
I studied with the Bristol School of Massage and Bodywork and have a Level 4 Diploma in Holistic Massage. I am a member of the Massage Training Institute (MTI), the professional body for massage and bodywork. I am fully insured, have a current first aid qualification, am DBS checked and follow the MTI code of ethics. I also invest in continued professional development, keeping my skills up-to-date and deepening my knowledge and understanding of massage.
